Here are the stitch structures we are using in the knitting map. As noted elsewhere, some stations have access only to quite simple structures, most stations to the majority of these stitch structures, and a few stations to all, including the most difficult. Each of the primary patterns you see here was mapped to a particular value garnered from the numbers of the day. Colour was mapped on top of stitch. A special case is Interlocking Twist, which was always knitted by knitter 1 (Marian O'Sullivan), which gives the map a border with a beautiful, complex rib that also adds strength and integrity to the whole.
